Nestled in the heart of Appleton, Wisconsin, Camelot Bar and Grill stands out as a beloved local gem for lovers of hearty fish & chips and classic American burgers. This inviting eatery masterfully combines the simplicity of comfort food with a nuanced touch that keeps patrons returning time and time again.
Their menu is a treasure trove for seafood enthusiasts—and the star of the show undoubtedly is the perch. Whether you opt for the iconic Perch Sandwich or the generous Perch Dinner, each bite delivers a perfect balance of flaky, tender fish encased in a golden, batter-dipped crust that crackles satisfyingly with every mouthful. Jenny Berg’s glowing praise of the perch dinner, highlighting its “decent sized and flavorful” fillets paired with perfectly cooked fries, truly captures the essence of what Camelot does best: generous portions, vibrant flavors, and comforting satisfaction.
Beyond perch, the menu offers diverse options like the Seafood Platter featuring shrimp, scallops, haddock, and perch, presented alongside traditional accompaniments such as coleslaw, rye bread, tater tots, melted butter, and tangy cocktail sauce. Guests like Brooke S. rave about this platter, which promises a crispy, indulgent seafood feast with “nice portions” and consistently “hot” dishes. The “biggest scallops ever” and hearty shrimp provide a tender, juicy texture that delights the palate—proof that Camelot doesn’t cut corners on quality or quantity.
For burger lovers, the Chili Cheese Burger, Burger and Fries Plan, and the robust Pulled Brisket Sandwich impress with their boldly seasoned, juicy profiles. What adds a unique twist here is the kitchen’s commitment to frying in beef tallow instead of the usual vegetable oils—an artisanal touch praised by customers like Lydia Schlagenhaft for its natural, rich flavor and healthier profile. This thoughtful ingredient choice elevates not only the fries but all fried items, delivering a mouthwatering depth that’s distinctly Camelot.
The atmosphere at Camelot Bar and Grill is warmly casual with an inviting, friendly vibe. The attentive and knowledgeable service—epitomized by servers like Anna, who genuinely enhance the dining experience with personable hospitality—complements the comfort food perfectly. The bar’s “Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar” adds a fun, interactive element for those looking to spice up their meal with creative cocktails.
Whether you're stopping in for a quick, fulfilling fish fry, indulging in a seafood platter to share, or craving that perfectly crafted burger, Camelot promises a robust, flavorful dining experience that feels like a celebration of the best of Wisconsin’s comfort cuisine. This is not just a meal—it’s a comforting escape to familiar flavors done with care and personality, truly a standout spot in the Appleton dining scene.
We had the perch dinner with fries and it was FANTASTIC!!! The perch was decent sized and flavorful, and the fries were done perfectly. I will not go anywhere else now for perch. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get as well. WAY better and cheaper than at a supper club.
Anna was our server, she was very personable, attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly! She told us about the beef tallow Camelot fries their foods in. Most places fry their foods in vegetable oils which are so bad for you, but the beef tallow is natural, good for you, and has a surprisingly good taste! 10/10. Drinks were great as well!
Fish fry/seafood platter was really good. The scallops were soft and flavorful along and the shrimp was hearty with a good bite. I've driven by soo many times but I'm glad we decided to stop last night, definitely another place in the area to go for some good food.
Some of the best fish in the Valley! We always have a great experience. Good service and food always hot with nice portions. Wait times can vary if they’re busy, but its expected. We always get the Platter to share and always have leftovers to airfry. All deep fried - perch, haddock, scallops, shrimp and fries, it also comes with coleslaw, rye bread, tater, melted butter and cocktail sauce. My go to for fish fry lately!
